The Future of Journalism

It is clear that journalism is changing. No on can deny this fact. But change is often good. As our culture changes, it seems only natural that the methods and models of our media change as well.
This should be a time of excitement for new journalists. We are thinking, perceptive human beings with a capacity to continue to grow and learn. In fact, that is healthy.
I don't claim to know what the future of journalism is or will be, other than what it has always been -- the quest for knowledge and accuracy. There will always be a reason for the media to exist and there will always be a need for accuracy.
If there's one thing I learned from Chantel Foster, it's that is important to stay in touch with not only who you are, but what positive tools are at our fingertips. She is a true writer, and yet she has managed to take her thirst for knowledge and creativity and use that to propel her to the top of the technological field.
And journalism has always had this ethic of progressing with technology and modes of thought. What is depressing is watching people get discouraged before great things can emerge. Especially for us as college students. We are fresh and more than capable of conquering the new waves of the future.
Of course there are growing pains. Layoffs are difficult and so is a competitive job market. But everything is a cycle and I am ready and confident to be a part of whatever emerges.
